About the Career

There is a significant demand for Registered Pharmacy Technicians in both hospital and community pharmacies throughout BC. 

Pharmacy Technicians are a critical part of the health care team. They work closely with Pharmacists and ensure that the highest standards of quality and accuracy are met in the compounding and dispensing of prescription medications. Their scope of practice includes receiving and transcribing verbal prescriptions, transferring prescriptions, and performing final checks.

This program is accredited by the Canadian Council for the Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP)

  • Delivery Method: ONLINE
  • Duration: 45 weeks, including 9 weeks of practicums
  • Starts: Three times per year (February, May and September)

  • Wages: $29.86/hr in hospital pharmacies (Fraser Health) and up to $27/hr in community pharmacies
